THE METHOD

Resolution: read the actual pixels
Your browser reads the returned width and height, then compares them with the requested size.
Reference: preserve the layout, change the style
A source with randomized corner colors and a central circle is converted to watercolor. We check that its structure remains and the image actually changes.
Inpainting: change the masked region
We use a fixed source and mask, look for “MASK OK” in the edited region, and check preservation outside it.
Quality checks verify only the API’s own declared tier and whether it accepts the parameter. They cannot independently prove visual quality. This tool cannot identify the actual model behind an API. Multiple-reference-image behavior is not separately verified.
KEY SAFETY
Your key stays in your browser by default.
Use a temporary key. Set a spending limit and expiration, and delete the key after your check. Refreshing this page clears the key.
No persistent key storage
No localStorage, IndexedDB or cookies for your key. Completed conclusions and small comparison thumbnails stay only in this tab for refresh recovery. They are not saved to our servers.
Server checks require your consent
Only if you agree does your key pass through our server in memory. It is never logged or saved. A private result link expires after 24 hours.
Images are analyzed, then discarded
Images are reduced to at most 1024 pixels for in-memory analysis. Inpainting also includes a native-resolution crop of the edited region. If an image URL blocks pixel access, the server may retrieve that image without your key using the same address protections.
FAQ
Before you run a check
Is the checker free? Who pays for the images?
BetterToken does not charge a checker fee and never spends its own credits on your run. Your API provider bills generation calls against your key. A run is limited to 12 calls, including retries.
What does “Needs confirmation” mean?
The measurement is borderline or analysis could not finish. It is not a pass and is not proof of an unsupported capability. Open the comparison or retry the individual item.
Which models and protocols are supported?
GPT Image and Nano Banana models through OpenAI Images or Gemini native protocols. You can enter a custom model name and select its request format. Chat Completions image output is not supported in this version.
Why can’t my browser connect?
Some providers block cross-origin requests (CORS), and some return errors the browser cannot read. Check your key first; you can explicitly consent to a server check. Server checks accept public HTTPS addresses only and never follow redirects.
What happens if I close or cancel the check?
New calls stop. Calls already sent may still be billed. Completed results remain in this tab after refresh, but your key is cleared and checks never resume automatically. Mobile browsers may pause background work; keep the page open.
