Is this an official Anthropic API key?
No. BetterToken provides an Anthropic-compatible API under your own BetterToken account and BetterToken API key. It is a separate service, not an official Anthropic API key.
Do I receive an account, subscription, or API access?
You receive API access through your own BetterToken account and API key. BetterToken does not sell Claude.ai, Claude Pro, Claude Max, shared accounts, or official Anthropic accounts.
How does pay-as-you-go billing work?
Pay-as-you-go billing. Available payment methods and terms are shown in Workspace. Your BetterToken balance is consumed by actual model calls according to the selected model rules.
How does the first top-up offer work?
New users can top up $5 and save $2. The full top-up amount is credited, and current terms are shown in Workspace.
Where can I see token usage and cost?
BetterToken Dashboard shows balance, model, request time and status, input tokens, output tokens, cached tokens when supported, and the charge for the request.
Does paid balance reset each month?
User-funded paid balance does not automatically reset each month. Starting, trial, bonus, and promotional balances may have separate validity periods and rules.
What happens when an upstream route is unavailable?
Smart routing can help only when multiple upstream channels are configured for the relevant model or route and the error matches fallback rules. Not every model has multiple channels, not every error triggers switching, and switching does not guarantee a successful response.
Can I use this API with Claude Code?
Claude Code has a separate terminal workflow through the BetterToken Anthropic-compatible API. Open the Claude Code API page and the current Docs guide for the current Base URL, variables, key group, and model selection rules.
